Beach Music Festivals: Grooving To The Sound Of The Waves – Get ready for an unforgettable weekend as Fiesta del Sol unveils its stellar line-up featuring The Wailers, Ozomatli and Meese Harbor for the 43rd annual free beachside music festival.
Set against the stunning backdrop of Fletcher Cove Beach Park, this year’s event promises two days filled with music, food, drinks and community spirit.
Beach Music Festivals: Grooving To The Sound Of The Waves
10 am to 10 pm. On May 18 and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on May 19, attendees will experience a dynamic lineup on multiple stages, featuring renowned artists representing music from around the world.

Representing Jamaica, the Wailers honor the legacy of Bob Marley with soulful reggae melodies and timeless classics. Led by Aston Barrett Jr., son of the legendary “Familyman,” The Wailers continue to captivate audiences with their signature sound. Additionally, Fiesta’s lineup welcomes Grammy-winning group Ozomatli, known for their infectious dance music with Latin rhythms. Saturday brings purveyors of soft rock, Mustache Harbour, who deliver all the hits from the smooth era. Groove to your favorites from bands like Steely Dan, Toto and more. The band invites everyone to “Party with us, live with us, workout with us in the dojo, drink from our bounty of coconuts filled with smooth grooves and tasty hooks. Enjoy the ride!”
Aside from the music, Fiesta del Sol offers a feast for the senses, including a variety of culinary delights and libations available for purchase. For those who prefer a VIP experience, a limited number of popular VIP passes are available online from Friday 15 March.
Families are invited to enjoy a wide range of activities, including bounce houses, games and interactive experiences for children. Festivities begin each day at 10:30 a.m. with performances by San Diego’s popular children’s music group Hullabaloo.
Additionally, guests can support the Solana Beach Fire Department by attending a pancake breakfast on May 19 from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

To ensure a seamless experience, Plaza Street and adjacent roads will be closed to traffic. Attendees are encouraged to utilize alternative transportation options such as biking, public transit, or ridesharing services. Free parking and shuttle service are available on Border Avenue and South Sierra Avenue.

The Tortuga Music Festival is an annual event known for its stellar lineup of country, rock and roots music with artists on the sunny beaches of Fort Lauderdale. However, what sets Tortuga apart is its strong emphasis on ocean conservation and environmental activism.
The three-day festival collaborates with various environmental organizations and initiatives to create awareness on ocean conservation issues. Through partnerships with organizations such as Rock the Ocean, Tortuga incorporates environmentally friendly practices into its operations and educates attendees about marine conservation efforts.
Located between the two main stages is the Conservation Village where attendees can engage with interactive exhibits, learn about marine life and discover ways to support ocean conservation efforts. Rock the Ocean Conservation Village focuses on five key themes: sea turtles, sharks, marine habitats, coral reefs and, new this year, marine mammals. Festival goers were able to be part of the action by painting a mural in the Guy Harvey tent or stopping for a photo op at the Rock the Ocean Sea Turtles tent. Other tentacles, such as the University of Miami, the Dolphin Project and the NSU Research and Conservation Program, shared their research with those who stopped. More than 30 groups attended this year.
The 11th annual festival kicked off on Friday, April 5, with Dee Jay Silver mixing country music hits to set the tone for the weekend. Sadie Bass is the first artist to perform and showcase her talents on the Next From Nashville stage, which provides a platform for emerging artists. Despite her initial stage fright, it was hard to believe that Sadie Bass had just begun her journey on NBC’s The Voice, with such confidence she possessed the stage.

Saturday started strong with performances from Annie Bosco, Cassie Ashton and the Black Opry. Whether you jumped in or walked in, the Next Tent from Nashville was always packed. Austin Snell, who is touring with headliner Jason Aldean, released a new single from his upcoming album, “Wild Fire,” the day before his performance. The Long Beach Dub Allstars changed things up a bit with their west coast California reggae roots. His new album was released in June last year. He ended his set with a cover of Sublime’s “Doon Time” along with an electrifying saxophone solo.

Looking out at the crowd from the stage, it was clear why Hardy chose to kick off his set with “Sold Out.” The entire audience seemed to merge into one mass, all singing enthusiastically and swaying to the rhythm throughout their performance. Whether he was passionately strumming air guitars during “Rockstar” or connecting deeply with the lyrics of “Boots,” fans were completely engrossed in Hardy’s performance. Amid dazzling pyrotechnics and dynamic video backdrops, Hardy paused to share anecdotes about his songs and personal memories attached to them.
