Rafting Through Rapids: Adrenaline Rush – The Middle Fork of the American River sits in a beautiful, rugged wilderness in the foothills of the Gold Country. It has a very remote feel despite being close to Sacramento and Lake Tahoe. There are several memorable rapids on this run, the first being the “Tunnel Chute”. This man made chutes and tunnels were created by miners during the Gold Rush era. The dynamite created the narrow chute with steep rock walls and the tunnel after.
