European Capitals: Road Trips To Paris, Rome, And Berlin – We are back from our trip across the pond and had the best time celebrating our anniversary in France + Italy. This was mine and John’s first trip to Europe and I tried to fit in as much sightseeing as I could while making it feel like a vacation. We hit Paris and Nice in France, and then headed to the Amalfi Coast and stayed in Praiano. I will break down our europe trip itinerary of all three locations on this blog, answer all the questions I received about this trip, and share all the images we took with our digital camera. A: We stayed at the Hotel Duquesne Eiffel and absolutely loved it- especially for a first timer in Paris. It’s usually central to many places- otherwise a quick train or uber ride away. I want to see the Eiffel Tower wherever we stay, and they were very kind enough to give us one of the rooms with a great view. Remember that the rooms are small! As a note, always ask for a bottle of champagne and macarons upon arrival in Paris, no matter where you stay! Hate to admit it, but this is Emily in Paris for me and I’m here for it 😉

A: They are some of the sweetest! True! As long as we are respectful of their culture and try to learn some French phrases to try, French is great. I think we can learn a lot from their culture.
First Time In Paris, This City Actually Lives Up To The Hype
A: The Eiffel tower sparkles at night, Musee d’Orsay, and Versailles are my top 3 favorite things to do.
I recommend taking a red-eye flight and getting to Paris at lunchtime to get there. We had all the plans to go to High Tea during this trip but didn’t make it due to arriving later than we planned. Next time!
Afternoon Event – ​​High Tea at Laduree Champs Elysees or Ritz Carlton (wait in line – no reservations available)
Dinner- Sunset Picnic at the Eiffel Tower. I found this beautiful scene on TikTok! here are the coordinates: V75R + W78. Pick up some meat, cheese, wine and chocolate at Epicerie Fine Rive Gauche, or any local grocery store. Another option (which is what we did because we ran out of time) was that we went to dinner at the Tour Eiffel and had charcuterie and wine. Be flexible that first day 😉
Why Travelers Will Never Stop Going To Europe
Breakfast – Les Deux Magots. One of the many iconic cafes! The best cappuccino I’ve had at this restaurant.
Activity 1 – Food tour in Montmartre. The highlight of the trip! Eat a small breakfast because you will be snacking for 4 hours- haha!
Dinner – Girafe if you can get reservations! We didn’t, so we ate at Monsieur Bleu and it was just as lovely.
Lunch at the Musee d’Orsay – No reservations required, but the line is long so get there early if possible!
Five Day Trips From Paris
Activity 2 – Notre Dame Chapel, Sainte Chapelle and surrounding flower market and Cafe. You must go to Au Vieux! This is an adorable Cafe. Go before they close at 4pm (you can stay longer, they don’t serve anymore)
Activity – Versailles! Book in advance and plan to spend most of the day here because it takes time to get there. Save time by ubering here instead of using the train, and wear comfortable shoes!
A: I would say a tour of some kind! Nice and Paris are the more artistic locations as the great artists live there, so I want to learn as much as I can while in the places they are.
A: We stayed at this absolutely beautiful chateau and would go back in a heartbeat. It’s a 30 minute drive from the French Riviera, which was perfect for us to have some quieter time after running around Paris for 4 days. We are tired! Nice is smaller than Paris, and also easier to drive to, so I recommend getting an Airbnb instead of a Hotel so you can really spread out, cook meals, and relax.
Paris Guide: Falling In Love With The City Of Love
We took the train, and probably won’t do it again. For the times and for the money, it is not much more to fly from Paris to Nice and it will take a fraction of the time. Also, I can’t tell you how many DM’d me about getting robbed on the train because you can’t put your luggage on your seats! Our train was also delayed by 3 hours, and the trip was already 6+ hours. So, skip the train and fly is my best advice.
Activity 3 – Villa Massena Musee (near Hotel Negresco) Or take it all off and go to the beach!
I enjoy the Italian culture. Their kindness, hospitality, and love of community touched my heart. Not to mention, the food is my favorite!
A: We stayed at Hotel Villa Maria Pia and I can’t say enough good things about it. The staff is lovely and welcoming, the location is beautiful and central, and the food at the hotel is just as delicious as the surrounding restaurants. It’s a lot quieter in Praiano than in Positano, so if that’s what you want, I recommend staying there! The hotel is an easy 20 minute taxi ride to Positano.

A: The Limoncello Spritz and the Hugo Spritz are my go-tos for this trip! Learning more about wine is a lot of fun. Chianti is a favorite!
Private Car ride from Naples to Praiano (about 1.5 hours drive). Bring some dramamine for this car ride…
Activity – Food + Wine Class! We booked ours through our concierge, and we took a class with the owner of Il Pino, a restaurant near our hotel. Can’t recommend il Pino enough for the class! I learned a lot and the food was delicious.
Get to Positano early and get there before breakfast time. We had a photoshoot, so we were here a bit earlier but it was worth getting there before the crowds to see this beautiful town!
Europe Trip Itinerary Template
Activities – There are many things to do in Capri, but it helps to get there early to avoid the crowds. The Monte Solaro chairlift is a great activity, along with another boat tour to the blue grotto. Just be aware that people are crazy.
We had the most wonderful trip and really met some of the nicest people I hope to meet again. So thankful to see other parts of the world.
A: Paris is my number one, for obvious reasons. The art, interiors, culture, food, people, and scenery are unparalleled, and I was so inspired to just be there. I also love Nice and Praiano, and would love to go back! But Paris won for me.

Outfits For A Europe Trip
A: I could have done one or two more days in Paris, and one less day in Amalfi if I had to change! But it really is, and it’s not like we feel like we haven’t seen enough in Paris. Living in Florida, we’re at the pool + beach because that’s the only reason I feel like I don’t have a day in Praiano! But the beaches of Nice and Italy are absolutely stunning, so if you want your vacation to be more relaxed then you should be good at this time!
